Managing Quantity Surveyor
Role Overview
Ethical Power (GTDS) is seeking a Senior/Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of our high-voltage transmission and distribution projects. We need a seasoned professional with a strong command of NEC contracts and a proven track record in commercial leadership. This is a crucial role, working both on-site and in the office, to ensure the robust financial performance and contractual integrity of our projects.
What will you be doing?
- Commercial Leadership: Manage the day-to-day commercial operations of high-voltage projects from 0.4kV to 400kV.
- Contractual Expertise: Lead contract negotiations, administer change control under NEC contracts (specifically Option B), and drive increased profit margins.
- Financial Oversight: Create and oversee cashflow forecasts, manage budgets, and provide accurate financial reports to support strategic business decisions.
- Risk Management: Develop and oversee project risk registers, focusing on effective mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and our supply chain partners, ensuring contractual compliance and smooth project delivery.
What are we looking for?
- Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a contracting environment, with a strong focus on high-voltage or energy infrastructure.
- Expert knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly Option B, with the ability to remeasure works on-site.
- Proven expertise in budgeting, cashflow management, and CVR concepts.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff is a plus.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is desirable.
